Poster Template

This was commissioned and accepted by CRAG, the Cornwall Reptile & Amphibian Group as a promotional device used as part of a display at events, with the aim of encouraging people to join the charity to raise funds for research and conservation of our native reptile & amphibian species.

As opposed to the flyer I felt that this should be created for a more visual impact, based more imagery with clear, concise, short sentences for easy reading and to portray a direct message.

The images are all my own except the adder header, which was included with permission from CRAG, as it is from their website. The background images are from CRAG sites, giving an idea of the type of landscapes a member could be traversing.

As with the bookmark and flyer I chose the picture of the grass snake in hand particularly to show there is more necessity for fascination than fear from our native snakes. I chose the image of a juvenile slow worm (top left) to highlight the beauty of often feared species and as a conversational opener, that they are a legless lizard, not a snake.

I used bullet points for the activities so that interested parties can easily and quickly read what the group offers its members. This was done using information from the CRAG website as requested.

I chose the language of 'experts, enthusiasts and volunteers' to emphasise that anyone with an interest is welcome to join, regardless of level of knowledge.

This poster is now displayed at all events and conventions attended by CRAG.
